Shared Space Sonnenfelsplatz
Austria's first urban shared space

The Shared Space Sonnenfelsplatz in the University Quarter of Graz was the first shared space project in Austria that was implemented in a larger city. The color design of the surface and specially designed street furniture transform the existing intersection into a livable urban environment. The planning and public participation process was particularly innovative: during a 5-day workshop involving all stakeholders information sessions, discus-sions, group and 4-eye discussions were held, and the entire design for the project evolved. together with Komobile - Helmut Koch (traffic), Michael Sammer (soci-ology), Fritsch ZT-GmbH (engineering)
