With Graz-Reininghaus we have the unique opportunity to build a city in the 21st Century: nearly 1 million square meters of vacant space are waiting to be developed into a vital part of Graz. KLD developed and implemented new pro-cedures for urban planning aiming to lay the foundation for a resilient city. A city that is robust and flexible, consistent and rigorous, as well as freedom-loving and diverse.

The concept for Graz-Reininghaus intends to define and lay down the public spaces - streets, roads, squares, parks – precisely whereas the construction are-as, the so called quarters, remain almost ‘unplanned’. Over time, these quarters will be built step by step.
