HTBLuVA Salzburg
Urbane Landmark für innovatives Lernzentrum.

The expansion of Austria´s second largest school makes the building visible in the street view for the first time. The overhanging additional storey creates an exciting, spatially designed public space which works as a link between school and city. Further additions and conversions provide additional school space and give the school a contemporary feeling.

An exciting color and lighting scheme, a number of areas for open learning and new teaching methods and differentiated designed outdoor spaces provide innovative learning experiences. Photovoltaic panels which generate electricity, controlled classroom ventilation and a thermally optimized facade complement the extensive renovation. Art works by Stephen Mathewson, Fritz Panzer and Sonia Leimer increase the identification with the school.
