The expansion of the Fuchsluger company to include new office and storage facilities was primarily a complex logistical challenge. The focus was on optimizing the entire infrastructure—from parking areas to internal circulation, access routes, and entry/flow control—in order to seamlessly integrate the new structures into the overall site layout. Equally decisive was the ambition to translate the identity of the company—which specializes in humus and renewable energy production—into architectural design:

Artificial Landscape: Vegetated embankments not only serve to blend the site into its natural surroundings, but also function as effective visual and acoustic barriers.

Renewable Energy: Extensive rooftop photovoltaic systems emphasize the site’s sustainable orientation and complement the existing on-site biogas plant.

In terms of design, the single-pitch roof of the office building adopts the typologies of the surrounding sheds and open-sided roofs, translating them into a distinct, dynamic architectural language. Its sweeping curve also reflects the movement and speed of the adjacent main road as well as the company’s own truck fleet. A large, cantilevered wooden roof appears to hover above a solid concrete base, which houses the garage, auxiliary rooms, and a spacious break room for employees. This elevated position atop the “hill” offers expansive views across the company grounds and toward the Alpine foothills.
